A Little Beach Air

It came in like a glass of iced lemonade in a harsh summer afternoon–Syadza’s offer to go to the beach felt so fresh at that time. We were stressed out. With exams and thesis we had to deal with, a trip to the beach sounded so appealing.

I’ve always loved the trip to a beach–especially the ones in Bantul district. I’ve gone there with a motorbike or a car, both alone or with some friends. I didn’t know how but, the road and the trees have the power to make me calm.

And this time, driving with Syadza and Rakyan and Ulva, the road and trees also witnessed our laughs.

We stopped at Pantai Baru, one of the beach spots in there. The air was salty. Though, it didn’t dampen our spirit to enjoy our afternoon at the beach. “Let’s find a more desolate area!”

And we did have fun. Ulva and Syadza were the bravest, followed by Rakyan and of course, the last person, me. The waves teased us and insisted to give us a little memory–wet ends of our pants (minus mine, hehe) and exhilarating shrieks.

It was fun. It was refreshing.

Sometimes all you need is to go out with your girls to unwind.
